The all-new second generation of the Renault Koleos launched in Oman with three variants. Suhail Bahwan Automobiles, the brand’s importer in Oman, expressed confidence that the new model will boost their presence in the segment.
The Renault Koleos is now built on the alliance’s C-D modular platform and shares the 2.5-litre 170hp 4-cylinder engine and X-tronic CVT gearbox with other alliance vehicles. However, the vehicle is distinct with exceptional styling, a plethora of customer-centric features and a very modern cabin, Depending on the variant, the model offers features like an 8.7” portrait mode display, hands-free opening tailgate and ventilated seats. Interior trims include a leather-like top of the line treatment along with power seats, push button engine start and blind spot monitoring as well as the ability to set a choice of interior ambient lighting colours.
Explaining that new KOLEOS exudes an inner strength, a spokesperson for Renault Oman said, “It stands out for its powerful, muscular exterior lines, unparalleled four-wheel drive technology, and all-terrain ability thanks to ground clearance of 210mm. Expressing delight at launching the new vehicle, the spokesperson said, “Renault KOLEOS comes at a time when SUVs are enjoying strong growth in Sultanate.”
The Koleos is available in three variants, PE, SE and LE with the PE also available as a 4×2 only. The 4×4 variants utilise the brand’s 4x4i technology that selectively sends power to the rear-axle when needed. The controls allow drivers to select Auto mode or to Lock delivery to all wheels as well as to keep the drive in FWD mode only.
The Renault Koleos is manufactured at the alliance plant in South Korea for all markets in the world except China.
