Lincoln Oman hosted a function at its Wattayah showroom to highlight the launch of the new Lincoln Continental and the 2017 Lincoln MKZ.
Alex Schaeffer, Director of Lincoln Middle East was the chief guest on the occasion and addressed the assembled media, “The 2017 Lincoln Continental has been designed to be as enjoyable to ride in as it is to drive and provides features that contribute to an experience so serene you might think you are still at home.”
The Continental debuts with a package that has not been seen in Lincoln before, including layered seats, massage functions, 30-way power seats and the latest Revel audio system. A new 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged engine that brings a new performance bracket to the Ecoboost series powers the top end of the model.
“Customers in the Middle East are undoubtedly some of the most discerning in the world and a quality product like the Continental offers the ideal experience in the level of luxury mobility to which they are accustomed”, Alex added.
Lincoln Oman also chose the occasion to highlight the launch of the 2017 MKZ, with new styling and in a single top of the line grade powered by the same 3.0-litre GTDI engine being offered on the Continental.
The pricing on both the Continental and MKZ was discussed at the launch with the prices indicated placing these cars well above their usual competition. Lincoln believes that it will be able to not just justify the prices but also make adequate sales at that. Alex Schaeffer clarified, “Our product positioning varies depending on the market, so you will find that while we appeal to a more mainstream segment in the United States, our offering in the Middle East is targeted at a higher segment.”
