The production version is expected till well into 2018, but BMW have unveiled their new Z4 concept in time for the Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach.
The car still manages to invoke the classic shape and lines of the current Z4 while presenting a new approach with an emphasis on a wider stance and more classic profile. The seats are now moved ahead , with a shorter bonnet and the rear deck gets twin domes that serve as rollover protection.
“The BMW Concept Z4 in an all-out driving machine,” said Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design. “Stripping the car back to the bare essentials allows the driver to experience all the ingredients of motoring pleasure with supreme directness. This is total freedom on four wheels.”
The fascia of the new car looks more shark like and the headlights are now stacked to give a new light signature. The car has a busier exterior detailing, while the interiors reflect a minimalistic approach.
