Marc Marquez led team mate Dani Pedrosa to the finish of the Czech MotoGP, with the two Yamahas of Maverick Viñales and Valentino Rossi bringing in third and fourth. The race was a rather interesting return to action after the summer break.
The race began as a wet one, but the two Repsol Hondas came in early to switch bikes for the relatively drier conditions.
Marquez came in on the second lap, while Pedrosa came in on the fourth. The Yamahas lost the early lead they picked up at the start, coming in to change their bikes after the Repsols gained the advantage. Rossi had to fight back and put on a rather impressive run from the 14th position to his final standing of no 4.
With this win, Marquez (154 points) stays out on the championship lead with Viñales following by 14 points. Andrea Dovizioso follows on his Ducati, just a point ahead of the Doctor who is at 132 points.
Yamaha currently head the constructors championship.
