Chery has indicated that it will be using the Frankfurt Motor Show to introduce a new upmarket brand that will be focussed on international markets and young, aspirational buyers.
The first model in this new brand range will be a SUV, again targeted at the European market. The SUV has been designed on the ‘Life in Motion’ design philosophy promoted by its chief designer James Hope.
The new range will feature electric drive modules either as hybrid, plug in hybrid or battery electric vehicles, while the user experience will focus on connectivity and autonomous drive capabilities.
In addition to this strategic move, Chery will also be showing some concepts including the Tiggo Coupé Concept (an SUV with coupé like profile) that debuts on a new modular architecture and features a 120kW electric motor and a range of 500 km.
New models on display will include the Tiggo 5x and Tiggo 7.
