Executives and marketing boffins are quite busy these days at Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A as the brand prepares to introduce its third model in the line-up, the Urus SUV in December. But that’s not all as the luxury sports car maker seems to have rekindled its interest in a potential fourth model line which could be a sedan variant.
That Lamborghini was open to the idea was indicated by CEO Stefano Domenicali in June. Domenicali wants to double the sales volume over the next years and obviously he has to bank on new models to achieve this business objective. Of the two possible ideas hinted, one was a 4-seater aimed at grand touring and the other was a new supercar that Lamborghini insiders are referring to as a modern-day Miura.
While Domenicali said he couldn’t see a fourth model line being introduced before 2025, reports emerging from UK suggest that work on the 4-seater has begun and that the launch could take place as early as 2021. If approved internally, the unnamed model would most likely share its platform with the Porsche Panamera.
