Toyota Motor Company has unveiled its New Toyota Crown Concept that will show at the forthcoming Tokyo Motorshow in October.
The legendary full size sedan now adopts Toyota’s TNGA global architecture and has been through development on the Nürburgring. In addition to a completely revolutionised ride characteristic, the Toyota Crown will also get the latest in Toyota’s connectivity package that will feed Toyota’s big data. The commercial versions of the Crown that are used as Taxis in Japan will get DRMs as standard to transmit this data.
In addition, Toyota will also debut its ITS system that has grown over the past couple of decades to offer an on-time vehicle to infrastructure communication channel that intelligently addresses traffic movement and can be offered on autonomous systems.
The commercial version of the Crown is set for a mid-2018 release.
