Two intrepid Omani adventurers are off on a lightning 40 day run across Europe that will see them cover 20,000 kilometres and 16 countries. Salim Mohamed Khamis Al Shukaili and Aiman Abdullah Khalfan Al Amiri are off on a road trip of a lifetime in their specially modified Jeep Wrangler.
The two are members of local Jeep Wrangler enthusiasts club Oman Jeep Heroes and have the backing of their club, that has seen them work out the permissions and approvals and in the process they have managed to bag some sponsorship. Dhofar Automotive, importers of the Jeep brand have not only stepped in as a sponsor, they have organised a reception for the two at the showroom in Wattayah.
Commenting on Salim and Aiman’s journey, Rhett Maxwell, GM of Dhofar Automotive said, “As a proud Omani company we are always on the lookout for young Omanis who are willing to push their skills and capabilities to the limit. It is no easy task to cover an average of nearly 500km a day, every day, for 40 days straight. But I am confident that Salim and Aiman are up for the task, and I know the Jeep Wrangler that they have decided to undertake the trip in is certainly up to the challenge.”
We wish them an incident-free journey and a safe return back to Oman. All the best, guys!
