Nissan has launched a total of seven Star Wars themed cars at the Los Angeles Autoshow. This serves as the lead up to the coming launch of the next edition of the Star Wars franchise – Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
“We’re back this year collaborating with Lucasfilm and the artists at Industrial Light & Magic to create these amazing concept vehicles across some of our best-selling models,” said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications & Media, Nissan North America, Inc. “These show vehicles were created for our fans, and will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show and shared across the country in regional auto shows over the next several months.”
The line-up of vehicles includes:
2018 Nissan Altima – Special Forces TIE Fighter with custom body wrap and a unique segmented windshield that resembles the arrangement on the TIE fighter. The wheels use teh styling of a TIE fighter’s wings. Speakers recreate the fighter and blaster’s sounds.
2018 Nissan Maxima – Kylo Ren Here the entire front end is customised to resemble Kylo Ren’s helmet with a single block of milled aluminium. This is matched with a custom lower spoiler and red headlights along with pulsating underbody lights that match his light sabre’s pulses.
2018 Nissan Maxima – Kylo Ren’s TIE Silencer Special wings to accommodate the laser cannons and missile launchers add menace to the red fascia and lighting elements – including red interior lights.
2018 Nissan Maxima – Captain Phasma The gleaming silver armour is reflected in the car’s two colour exterior – with hand tooled aluminium and a reworked front-end resembling the female protagonist’s helmet. Coincidentally, Nissan’s Maxima team is led by a female engineer, the designer for this vehicle was a female from ILM and the vehicle’s brand director is a female. Enough woman power!
2018 Nissan Rogue – Poe Dameron’s X-wing with BB-8 Who doesn’t love the T-70 X-wing fighter? This Nissan Rogue adaptation comes with a BB-8 in its strategic operations port, twin illuminated thruster ports and laser cannons at the wingtips of all the four wings.
2018 Nissan Rogue Sport – A-wing The A-wing is slightly less dramatic than the X-wing version of the Nissan Rogue. The two laser cannons on the flanks go with a custom body wrap that shows battle damage and a blue and white colour scheme.
2018 Nissan TITAN AT-M6 The Nissan Titan truck carries a massive megacaliber cannon mounted on its bed, with a one foot lift and a sound system that emulates the sonorous ground-stomping sound of the First Order Walker. All 5000 watts of it.
