Cadillac Middle East has announced the arrival of the 2018 Cadillac Escalade, with a new 10-speed automatic transmission and its 420hp 6.2-litre V8 engine. The gearbox has a greater ratio spread for better fuel efficiency and the car still delivers some impressive performance figures with a sub-six second figure for the 0 to 100 km/h sprint.
Christian Soemmer, Managing Director, Cadillac Middle East, said “The Cadillac Escalade is the epitome of premium design and power. The 2018 model, with a new powerful 10-speed automatic transmission, encapsulates our commitment to providing our customers a luxurious driving experience, complemented by sophisticated and innovative technologies.”
The interiors get two new combinations, with massage function on the front seats and a reclining second row. A Bose Centerpoint 16-speaker audio system comes as standard and the car gets the Cadillac rear camera mirror system that is a strong selling point across the range.
The exterior is redefined, with full-LED headlamps and tail lamps, a new look grille and sharper cues.
The Escalade’s technologies include active safety features to help protect occupants before, during and after a collision, such as front and rear automatic braking, which relies on short-range radar technology on Premium Luxury and Platinum models.
The standard of Automatic Parking Assist can also be found in the 2018 Escalade, which enables the car to park itself in parallel and perpendicular spaces.
A Surround Vision system is standard on all models and uses cameras to provide a 360-degree bird’s eye view of the Escalade via the colour display screen.
Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, IntelliBeam headlamps and the patented Safety Alert Seat, which pulses the left, right or both seat cushion bolsters to alert the driver of a dangerous situation are standard on Premium Luxury and Platinum models.
