The new Polestar operations have unveiled their first model in the Polestar 1 being shown at the Geneva Motorshow. They have also timed their release so as to allow buyers to order and configure their cars online with a Euro 2,500 deposit.
Pre-ordering is now available in the following 18 countries: China, United States, Sweden, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Portugal, Poland, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and Canada.
“With over 7,000 people interested in owning a Polestar 1 since its reveal, we are extremely encouraged by the passion shown for our product. We will now take the next steps towards delivering this beautiful car to our first customers,” says Thomas Ingenlath, Chief Executive Officer of Polestar.
The Polestar 1 brings the electric performance hybrid format to a two door coupé form factor. This will be joined later by a crossover too. Output is rated at 600hp and 1000Nm of torque with a battery only range of 150kms.
There is however no further information on whether the company has chosen to change its ownership model for the cars, which initially was meant to be in the form of a subscription arrangement.
