Hyundai’s premium brand Genesis has broadened the choices available in the region, by unveiling its new Genesis G70 sedan, launched at a media drive event, in Dubai. The Genesis G70 sedan was initially revealed at last year’s Dubai Motorshow for local buyers. It is now rolling out on sale across countries in the GCC.
The Genesis G70 sedan sports new styling and a choice of two engines – either a turbocharged 3.3-litre V6 or a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four. The larger of the turbo engines is the new Lambda II unit with 365hp and 510Nm and a 0-100 km/h figure of 4.7 seconds. The smaller unit generates 249hp and 353Nm of torque.
Versions come with launch control programmed into its automatic transmission paired with dynamic torque vectoring and a mechanical limited slip differential. There is also a speaker enhanced audio feedback in the cabin to reflect the engine note. Steering is a rack mounted electric unit.
The car also features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink and a full suit of driver assist features grouped under ‘Genesis Active Safety Control’.
“Genesis has been very well received in the Middle East, and the Genesis G70 will be an exciting new chapter in our story,” said Altar Yilmaz, Genesis General Manager for the Africa and Middle East region. “For many of our potential customers, this is the Genesis they have been waiting for.”
