In what can only be described as a flight of fantasy, BMW has kitted out a Lufthansa 777 cargo plane as a flying presentation hall. The plane will visit Munich, Frankfurt, New York, San Fransisco and Beijing, where it will host around 300 media who will board to witness the exclusive demonstration.
This impressive feat of logistics involves modifying the interiors of the cargo plane with 165 LED panels and powerful projectors to create a visual treat inside the bay.
“Visionary products deserve visionary presentations. We are delighted to have made this extraordinary world premiere possible in cooperation with BMW,” said Peter Gerber, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Lufthansa Cargo AG.
“iNEXT is our mobility proposition for the future, so it’s only logical that the BMW Vision iNEXT should be presented to a global audience in a fresh new style,” said Klaus Fröhlich, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Development. “The World Flight is a fitting way to get the ball rolling.”
The setup to showcase the next in the Vision series needs to be achieved in a tight timeframe. For flight mode, material needs to be stowed safely and the time available is a short as four hours. Setup needs to be achieved in eight.
