Ford has unveiled the 2020 Ford Explorer – marking a ground-up redesign of the brand’s iconic best-seller. This will be the sixth generation of Ford’s mid-size SUV and the new model features latest generation technologies in addition to being larger and more powerful than before.
“Explorer drivers told us what they want – more capability, more power, more space,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford’s head of product development and purchasing. “They want more technology, not just for the driver, but for the whole family. And they want all of it with a beautifully sporty exterior. This new Explorer gives them all of that, and more, helping make every journey more enjoyable.”
The new 2020 Explorer also presents a larger range of variants with standard, XLT, Limited, Limited Hybrid, ST and Platinum models.
Base engine option is a 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine with 300 horsepower output, while the engine we are likely to get in the region will be the 3.0-litre V6 Ecoboost with 365 horsepower and 515 Nm of torque.
The latest 10-speed transmission finds its way to the Explorer as does the full suite of safety and driver assistance features like Ford Co-Pilot360.
