Nissan has experimented with the Nissan GT-R many times, in its attempt to make the car ever more desirable. And it seems to have hit its sweet spot with the new Nismo-tuned Nissan GT-R50, which we had reported about.
Now the prototype of the Nissan GT-R50 is in the region, as part of a global tours that also saw the car go to Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, Monterey Motorsports Reunion in the U.S and Nissan Crossing in Japan.
Highly suited to the mega rich buyer in the region, the car is limited to a 50 unit production run, meant to celebrate the 50th anniversaries of both Italdesign and the Nissan GT-R itself.
Commenting during the launch, Kalyana Sivagnanam, Regional Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Nissan AMI and President of Nissan Middle East says, “Continuing our long and proud motorsport heritage in the Middle East, we are thrilled to bring the exclusive GT-R50 to customers and fans in the region. The Nissan GT-R is one of the world’s most iconic supercars, and the GT-R50 by Italdesign is the GT-R taken to the next level, with no compromise in performance, styling or craftsmanship. The GT-R50 is the perfect embodiment of the Nissan brand and an ultra-limited collector’s edition for true enthusiasts who want to own the very best Nissan has to offer.”
Nissan Middle East claim that the Nissan GT-R has been key to their presence in the sports car segment over the past few years, posting sales increases that will see them double their share of the premium sports car segment over 2016 to 2018.
“It is fitting GT-R50 is making its regional debut here as the GT-R nameplate has a special connection with customers in the Middle East,” added Juergen Schmitz, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East. “GT-R, like Nissan, offers something genuinely different from anything, or anyone, else and is an important differentiator for Nissan in the Middle East. GT-R is the perfect mirror of our brand, reflecting the boldness that defines Nissan. This exclusive 50th Anniversary Edition is further proof of Nissan engineering and advanced technology.”
