The Nissan Renault Mitsubishi Alliance, that was largely seen as Carlos Ghosn’s pet project, has now issued a statement laying out the framework of future management.
Jean-Dominique Senard, Hiroto Saikawa, Thierry Bollore and Osamu Masuko announced the intention to create an Alliance operating board for Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi Motors.
Jean-Dominique Senard will act as Chairman of this new operating board of the Alliance, with the CEOs of Nissan, Renault, and Mitsubishi Motors also joining the board.
The new Alliance operating board will drive the operational cooperation between Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi Motors.
The Alliance is also looking at a “New Start”, something it has had to engineer due to the Ghosn issue. In the meantime, Carlos Ghosn has managed to negotiate bail from the Tokyo court although there are strict conditions to that including having to surrender his three passports and staying off the internet.
His bail amount is set at a billion yen (US$ 9 million).
Meanwhile Renault is also investigating the extent of undue benefit Ghosn was the beneficiary of – in cooperation with France’s investigators.
